Mazda6 vs Honda Accord
If you’re interested in a reliable, comfortable, and feature-rich midsize sedan, then you may want to consider the Mazda6 or Accord. While they’re both viable options for trips around Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, or Carlisle, one may be a bit better for you.
To find out which one that is, continue reading through our Mazda6 vs. Honda Accord vehicle comparison. Don’t hesitate to contact us at Faulkner Mazda if you have any questions.
Mazda6 vs Accord Interior Design
If you’re looking for an upscale feel from a non-luxury sedan, then you may really like the Mazda6. It uses premium materials throughout the cabin, such as Nappa leather and Sen wood. Those materials, plus the Ultrasuede® trim that lines the doors and dashboard, deliver a truly elevated driving experience.
That’s not to say that the Honda Accord looks plain, because it certainly doesn’t. It uses high-quality, soft-touch materials throughout, like leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. However, it does have a few low-grade plastics sprinkled throughout, which means it may not feel as refined as it does in the Mazda6.
Amenities & Technologies: Mazda vs Honda
Both vehicles offer lots of amenities to help keep everyone on board comfortable. These include heated/ventilated front seats, along with heated rear seats.
However, the Mazda6 goes a step further by also offering a heated steering wheel. This way, you can warm your hands up on a frigid morning or soothe them after a long day.
In addition, the Mazda6 and Accord have lots of technologies to help keep you connected and entertained. For instance, the Mazda6 comes standard with a MAZDA CONNECT™ Infotainment System. Here, you can take advantage of popular apps like HD Radio™, Pandora®, Aha™, and Stitcher™, for hours of entertainment.
The Accord also comes standard with Pandora®. However, you have to upgrade to a higher trim level to get HD Radio™. Furthermore, the vehicle doesn’t offer Aha™ nor Stitcher™ in any of its trim levels.
Performance Specs: Mazda6 vs Honda Accord
The Mazda6 and Accord are known for being very fun to drive. They each have great handling, sharp steering, and a smooth ride.
They’re both pretty powerful, as well. The Mazda6 has an available 2.5T SKYACTIV®-G 4-cylinder engine that delivers 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the Honda Accord has an available 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that puts out slightly more horsepower (252 hp), but much less torque (273 lb-ft).
Furthermore, the engines in the Mazda6 incorporate Cylinder Deactivation. This system will shut down two of the four cylinders in certain driving conditions. This is so you’ll get that ideal balance between fuel efficiency and performance.
Unfortunately, the Accord doesn’t offer anything like Cylinder Deactivation. As a result, the engine may be working harder and not smarter like it does in the Mazda6.
Mazda6 vs Accord: Verdict
The Mazda6 and Honda Accord are very impressive sedans. However, the Mazda model has a more sophisticated-looking interior, along with a longer list of features.
If you want to experience the Mazda6 for yourself, don’t wait. Schedule a test drive at Faulkner Mazda, the dealership that’s proud to serve drivers like you throughout Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, and Carlisle.
